GYMNASTICS & TUMBLING NEWS

Sign up for automatic debit through your bank account or credit/debit card.  Tuition does not come out before the 5th of the month, and not only does it save your spot, but you also save $5 each month.

The gym is closed for Mardi Gras on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th, and for our meet on Friday 12th through Sunday 14th.

Make up day is  Saturday 20th.  Sign up for your 9am or 10am class at the front desk. This if for the following: classes on Mon 8th and Tuesday 9th.  Saturday classes on 13th  and development team on Friday 12th.

Level 1 and 2 (bronze) teams can practice on Wednesday 10th during the day or in the evening to practice for the meet.  Hours to follow.

A team from Glasgow, Scotland will arrive on Friday 5th.  They will be training with us, and enjoying a cultural exchange, before participating in our meet.

Our annual Planet Mardi Gras Invitational takes place over the weekend of 12-14th, so there will be no Open Gym or classes on Friday 12th.  Our junior, dynamite and recreational development teams will compete that night, so make sure you have signed up at the front desk. See the schedule on our Meet page.  Admission to the last session on Saturday night is free if you are from Planet Gymnastics.  Come out to support our highest level optionals, levels 9 and 10!  They start at 7pm and finish by 9pm.  Please remember we set up for the meet on Thursday 11th at 6pm, and are looking for strong men to help move the equipment, and creative women to decorate. Thanks! As usual, no team practice after the meet, Mon. 15th.

Remember to keep bringing in your beads.  We recycle them during our meet, and students get a free bungee turn for bringing them in.

We have started new preschool classes during the day with Coach Stephanie. Jumpin’ Joeys are for moms and babies as well as preschoolers.  See the front desk for times and prices.

Summer camp flyers will be coming out soon.  Day camps for 3-14 years will run from around May 31 to August 5.  Olympic Camp for gymnasts will be June 26-30 with guest coaches.

January Results: Level 1 and Silver teams finished 1st at the Southern Classic, while Bronze, Gold and Platinums took 2nd.  Level 7 team finished 1st at the Roulez Les Bons Temps meet in Baton Rouge.

FENCING NEWS

No class on Monday 8th for Mardi Gras or Monday 15th as Coach Alex will be at the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cleveland, Ohio.  Please turn up on Thursday 11th and 18th for your make up class, or see Coach Alex.

Good luck to Natasha at Nationals.  The team will also compete in Atlanta on 21st.

January Results:  Garrett Whalen got a rating at the Epee Melee in Baton Rouge. He has now gone from unrated to rated E!!  Keep up the good work.
