Hi! My name is Maddie Williams, I am currently a student at South Alabama studying Therapeutic Recreation with plans to go to Occupational Therapy school afterwards. I grew up doing Gymnastics with Lanier’s Gymnastics for 9 years and went up to Level 8!

Fun Fact: I once broke the state record in Mississippi for making Regionals three times in a row.

Coach Maddie teaches Recreational Gymnastics and Competitive Team

I am Victoria White, also a local here to Mobile, AL and a former competitive cheerleader. I was raised into gymnastics and grew a love for athletics and leadership. I went to the University of South Alabama and majored in Emergency Medicine where I completed BLS (Basic Life Support).

Fun Fact: I’ve been attacked by an ostrich!

Coach Victoria teaches Recreational Gymnastics

Hi, I am Jimmie Beth Kuntz. I have been a gymnast at Planet Gymnastics for the past 14 years, and I am on the Optional Team. I am a Junior in the International Baccalaureate and EPIC programs at Davidson High School. I enjoy reading and listen to music, and plan to attend Law School.

Fun Fact: I am very afraid of chickens.

Coach Jimmie teaches Recreational Gymnastics

Hi, my name is Mariya! I did gymnastics and tumbling here at Planet Gymnastics for 8 years, and competed at State and Regional Championships many times. I now do Martial Arts with John Master Graham and help out with his ninjas. I enjoy coaching so that I can help others become skilled gymnasts. I plan on becoming a dentist or a veterinarian.

Fun Fact: I was born in Kazakhstan and moved to Alabama in 2013 🙂

Coach Mariya teaches both Boys and Girls Recreational Gymnastics

Hi, I am Samantha Townsend! I was a competitive gymnast for several years and was training to compete level 9. I went to school at Bishop State and recently graduated from their Physical Therapy Assistant program. I feel blessed to be able to use my abilities to teach these kids what I love about gymnastics while keeping them healthy and strong!

Fun Fact: I placed 2nd in the Region on Balance Beam in level 8!

Coach Sam teaches Competitive Team

Hi, I am Lisa and I was a scholarshipped collegiate and professional diver after my gymnastics career ended. I earned my B.A. in psychology with a minor in athletic training from St. Bonaventure University in New York. After that, I moved to Georgia where I attended Georgia State University and obtained my M.S. in professional counseling and my Ed.S. in counseling consultation. I have been a gymnastics coach for almost 30 years and I have 20 years of management experience, as well as owned my own gym for over 5 years. Even with my experience, I still pride myself with every year learning something new so I can continue to grow as a coach and a person!

Fun Fact: I currently compete in both Obstacle Course Racing and Ninja. I am also an avid rock climber!

Coach Lisa teaches Competitive Team

Hi, I am Coach Paige, I have been at Planet Gymnastics for over twenty years as both a gymnast and a coach. I have coached many State, Regional, and National champions. I have a degree in Health Information Technology.

Fun Fact: I was Queen of a Mardi Gras association in 2014.

Coach Paige teaches Competitive Team

Hello, my name is Caeley Nix and I’m 20 years old. I did gymnastics for 15 years, and I competed for 10 years and retired as a level 8. I am currently taking online classes to become a flight attendant. Gymnastics has always been in my life and I’m happy to say now that I can’t do – I can teach, and I am so excited to be passing on everything I’ve learned from all my coaches and experiences.

Fun Fact: I lived in Okinawa, Japan for 4 years where I learned how to Taiko drum.
